From Blanco to Toketee

We left beautiful Cape Blanco about 9 am; overcast but still no rain. We headed inland to Toketee; a lake side camping area about 180 miles inland and close to Crater Lake, our highlight destination for this region.  The ride was easy and beautiful, paralleling the umpqua river for the lower half of the trip and then the north branch of the Umpqua for the next half.  The river and road snaked through a gorge and the river was near continuous cascades , riffles and pools along its course.  We stopped several times to take it in.  We made our destination at Toketee about 3 pm, picked a secluded site and decided to kayak the lake.  Mild white water at the put in and a wonderful 1.5 hr paddle on this gorgeous mountain lake.
