Flying into Tomorrow with Stevie

Our plane was an hour late taking off because they held the plane for Stevie Wonder. (See photo.). Even so we landed a couple minutes early...and it's 'tomorrow'.

Definitely feel like we aren't in the USA. Took a photo of the back of the bathroom stall door as I sat there in the airport. It's an ad for "The Black Toilet Paper Company.". Unisex bathrooms also make for 'interesting
encounters!'

As nice as Lisbon airport was, Madrid was horrible. We wandered for 20 minutes to try to get off the 2nd floor to car rental. Ack! Everything we read online was true. Long distances. Rude employees that were not helpful.

Euro is 119 at airport exchange. That is excellent!! LIES! Despite the 12' long neon sign, once Paul got to the counter they wanted 140! Another ding for Madrid airport.

3:00 is rush hour on the M-11. Like we just did a time warp from the Cross Bronx, but we're listening to beautiful Spanish music on the radio. Lots of tagging on vertical walls everywhere.

Toll roads are expensive. $11 for 15 miles.

Hotel Rastro is beautiful; more about that tomorrow. Now we are the only people at an outdoor patio having beers and wishing food would be ready before 9 pm. It's 6:00 now. Wow, are we going to need to adjust!!! In Northampton this place would be packed by now.
