Traffic was heavy and congested as we drove through Boston to Logan. Once we got to the airport the Iceland Air check-in counter wasn't open and our flight was listed as delayed. Thankfully, though, we found out that they were going to do a "tail switch" ... Essentially put us on a different plane that was already on the ground.
Iceland Air was pleasant with wider seats than American Airlines and blankets and pillows on each seat when we boarded. They also handed each of us a bottle of Icelandic water when we boarded, but there was no food service, not even little bags of pretzels. Each seat also had its own video screen. The flight was 5 hours. When we landed at 5 a.m. it was 52 degrees; we deplaned down a set of aluminum stairs onto the tarmac.
